Privacy Policy for Budgetum

Introduction

Welcome to Budgetum. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a transparent user experience.

Budgetum is a personal budgeting tool that stores your financial data locally on your device by default. If you choose to create a Shared Budget Plan Link, the selected plan data is temporarily stored online so the link can be viewed by anyone who has it.

Information We Collect

Data You Provide

Budget and Financial Information

Budget and financial information you enter in the Budgetum app, such as income, expenses, accounts, transactions, contacts, tags, categories, and budget sections, is stored locally on your device by default. We do not have access to this local app data.

Shared Budget Plan Links

Budgetum may allow you to create a temporary public read-only link to a budget plan.

Creating a shared budget plan link is optional. When you create one, only the information included in that shared plan is sent to Budgetum's serverless infrastructure and stored temporarily so the link can be opened by anyone who has it.

A shared budget plan may include:

• plan title
• currency
• budget period
• income names and planned amounts
• budget section names
• category names
• planned amounts
• optional category actual totals for the budget period, if included

Shared budget plan links are public to anyone with the link. Do not include private or sensitive information in a shared plan, such as full names, addresses, phone numbers, bank account numbers, card numbers, employer names, or other personal details.

Automatically Collected Data

Budgetum uses the following services to improve app functionality and user experience:

Firebase Analytics

Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage statistics, such as:

• general device information, such as device model and OS version
• app usage data, such as screens viewed and features used
• language preferences
• anonymous interaction events

Firebase Crashlytics

Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports, such as:

• technical information about app crashes
• device state at the time of crash
• basic device information

No personally identifiable information, such as names, email addresses, or financial data, is intentionally collected through Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.

How We Use Your Data

Core Functionality

Budgetum uses locally stored data to provide budgeting features inside the app.

Shared Budget Plan Links

If you choose to create a shared budget plan link, Budgetum uses the selected shared plan data to create and display a temporary read-only web page that can be opened by anyone with the link.

Shared budget plans are used only to display the plan through the shared link. Budgetum does not sell shared budget plan data or use it for advertising.

Crash Reporting

Crash reports are used to identify and fix technical issues.

Analytics

Anonymous analytics are used to improve app functionality by understanding general usage patterns.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

By default, financial and budget-related information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted outside your device.

The exception is when you choose to create a Shared Budget Plan Link. In that case, the selected shared plan data is temporarily transmitted and stored online so the link can work.

Shared Budget Plan Storage

Shared budget plan links are stored temporarily using Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare KV storage. Cloudflare acts as an infrastructure provider for this feature.

Shared budget plans are automatically deleted after approximately 90 days. A shared plan may become unavailable earlier if it is removed or if the service is unavailable.

Anyone with the shared link can view the shared plan while it is available.

Analytics and Crash Data

Anonymous usage data and crash reports are processed and stored securely by Firebase services.

User Rights and Choices

As a Budgetum user, you have several rights and choices:

• Export Data: You can create local backup files of your data.
• Delete Data: You can delete local app data by removing it from the app or uninstalling Budgetum from your device.
• Shared Plan Removal: If you want a shared budget plan removed before it expires, contact us at support@budgetum.app and include the shared plan link.
• Budgetum PRO: You may purchase the PRO version of the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Backup Feature

Local Backups

Backup files are stored locally on your device or in a location you choose.

Data Control

You maintain full control over backup files. If you share, upload, or store backup files outside your device, that storage location may have its own privacy practices.

In-App Purchases

Payment Processing

Payments are handled securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Purchase Data

Standard purchase information is processed by the respective store. Budgetum does not receive your full payment card details.

Children's Privacy

Budgetum does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is intended for general use and is not specifically designed for children.

Shared budget plan links should not include personal information about children.

Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes may be communicated through the app or website. Continued use of Budgetum after updates indicates acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

Budgetum aims to comply with applicable platform and service requirements, including:

• Google Play Store privacy requirements
• Firebase terms of service
• Cloudflare terms of service
